Making a Difference Together: Battle Green’s Impact in 2025
At Battle Green, our aim has always been simple: to make everyday essentials in a way that’s kinder to people, animals, and the planet. Thanks to the continued support of our customers, 2025 has been another year where our small business has been able to support causes that align closely with our values. Below is a snapshot of the positive impact we’ve been able to make together.
Supporting Menstrual Equity with Flo Haven
Flo Haven is a non-profit organisation founded in 2020 to tackle period poverty and menstrual stigma in Nigeria. Their work focuses on menstrual health education, access to sustainable period products, and improving sanitation — all vital for enabling girls and women to attend school, work, and participate fully in daily life.
Over the past year, Battle Green donated more than 100 reusable period pads to Flo Haven, alongside a selection of soaps, to be distributed at their outreach events. These donations help provide long-lasting, practical support while reducing waste, and we’re proud to play a small part in Flo Haven’s work towards menstrual equity.
Protecting Our Oceans with Surfers Against Sewage
Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) is a UK-based marine conservation charity best known for its work protecting oceans, beaches, and waterways from pollution. What began as a grassroots campaign against sewage dumping has grown into a national movement addressing plastic pollution, water quality, and climate impacts on our seas.
As part of the SAS Ocean Network programme for businesses, we donated £250 in 2025 to support their ongoing campaigns and conservation work. We’re especially proud to say this is a commitment we’ve made every year since 2018, reflecting our long-standing support for cleaner oceans and healthier coastlines.
Caring for Animals with Freshfields Animal Rescue
Freshfields Animal Rescue, with shelters in North Wales and Liverpool, is a charity very close to our hearts. Their work spans rescue and rehoming of domestic animals, wildlife rehabilitation, farm animal sanctuary, and equine care, alongside vital education and preventative services in the community.
In 2025, Battle Green donated £125 to support Freshfields’ work. Beyond financial support, we’ve also been volunteering weekly at our local shelter for several years — helping to socialise cats and collecting donated food through supermarket pick-ups. It’s a hands-on way for us to give back locally and support animal welfare where we live.
Planting Trees and Supporting Climate Action with Ecologi
Through our partnership with Ecologi, we planted 248 trees in 2025. Tree planting plays an important role in restoring natural habitats, supporting biodiversity, and improving local environments for both people and wildlife. Trees help stabilise soil, improve air quality, provide shelter and food for animals, and contribute to healthier ecosystems overall.
In addition, as part of our carbon neutral shipping initiative, we funded 1 tonne of nature-based carbon removal. These projects work by protecting and restoring natural carbon sinks — such as forests, wetlands, and soils — helping to draw carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere while supporting local communities and ecosystems.
Looking Ahead
All of this has only been possible because people choose to support Battle Green. We’re genuinely grateful for every order, recommendation, and kind message — each one helps us continue making thoughtful choices and supporting causes that matter.
As we look ahead to the coming year, we hope to keep building on this impact, finding new ways to do better and contribute positively, even in small ways. Thank you for being part of that journey with us.
