Solid Dish Soap Bar

Our solid dish soap bar offers an effective, plastic-free alternative to conventional washing-up liquids. Handmade in Wales with natural, plant-based ingredients, this award-winning natural dish soap is non-toxic, biodegradable, and free from palm oil, SLS/SLES, and synthetic fragrances. Like all Battle Green products, it’s PETA certified vegan and cruelty-free, making it a safe choice for your home and the environment.

Winner of Best Eco Cleaning Product (Kitchen) at the Beauty Shortlist Awards, this versatile washing up soap bar weighs approximately 160g and measures 9cm x 5.5cm x 3.5cm. It arrives wrapped in compostable paper printed with plant-based inks.

How to use your solid dish soap

Place the bar next to your sink on a soap rack or an old saucer. When you’re ready to wash, wet a sponge, dishcloth, or brush and rub it over the soap. This creates rich bubbles to clean dishes effectively. Rinse thoroughly after washing.

For tougher stains:
Simply wet the stain and the soap bar, rub the bar on the stain, then add the item to your laundry and wash as usual.

To clean surfaces:
Rub a warm, damp sponge or cloth on the bar, wipe down surfaces, and rinse with water.

Ingredients

Our bars contain 100% organic coconut oil, which produces big, rich bubbles and makes an excellent base for dish soap. We add UK-mined white clay to provide gentle scrubbing power. Sodium lactate, derived from fermented sugars found in corn and beets, hardens the bar for long-lasting use. Finally, a blend of eucalyptus and lemongrass essential oils gives the soap a fresh, clean scent. These oils are traditionally known for their natural antimicrobial effects.

    Lovely soap which lathers well and smells good. It works on plates and pans with a brush or wire scrubber. I found it helpful to have a clay plantpot to store it so it drains and dries between uses. However, I dislike the way that it leaves a greasy film on the washing up bowl and sink – I have to clean these far more than I would with liquid detergent.

    I won’t go back. It works well and I enjoy using it. I dislike the smell but it isn’t overpowering so it isn’t a deal breaker. I just ran out of my first one and didn’t order a new one in time so I’m going to have to use a normal dish soap until my new one arrives, which I’m not happy about. As I say, I won’t go back to normal dish soap.
